FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL

​Sam is a community-oriented leader who believes in the dignity and worth of all people. She's a systems thinker and innovator. Prior to launching SDC Strategies LLC, Sam spent thirteen years in various leadership roles at nonprofit organizations including leading three nonprofits as their Executive Director. Sam received her Master's in Social Work and Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. She is an alumni of the East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship and Weinberg Fellows programs. She developed her passion for community service during her time as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Philippines. She lives in Safety Harbor, FL, and enjoys reading or spending time in nature when she's not working or chasing after her energetic son, Ollie. 

OPERATIONS CONSULTANT

Lama is a valuable addition to the SDC Strategies team, with a wealth of experience in organizational development and project management. Guided by her family motto, "I maikaʻi i ke kalo i ka ʻohā," she believes in striving to be the best reflection of her elders, a belief that permeates her work. Lama excels in team building, leadership development, managing complex projects, event planning, bookkeeping, human resources support, and more. She brings much-needed infrastructure support to organizations seeking to enhance their structure and efficiency. Her dedication to empowering teams and fostering growth aligns perfectly with our commitment to supporting grassroots nonprofits on their journey to create positive and lasting social impact. Lama lives in Honolulu with her family.

OPERATIONS ANALYST

Danielle “Dani” is a valued addition to the SDC team with expertise in processes, organization, and compliance. Prior to joining SDC Strategies LLC, Dani had over 15 years of experience as a clinical provider, lead therapist, and clinical manager. Dani received her Master's in Communication Disorders from Florida State University. She currently lives in the Florida panhandle and works part-time for SDC strategies and part-time as the project manager of her household; raising two spirited and active young daughters. Dani enjoys spending time at the beach, exploring the dune lakes where she lives, and trying out new restaurants and recipes.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT

Garrett brings a wealth of experience to the SDC Strategies team, with over 35 years of expertise in the financial sector. Not yet ready to retire, Garrett is dedicated to assisting nonprofits in strengthening their financial policies, procedures, and practices. Committed to his community, Garrett serves on the Board of Directors of Adult Friends for Youth. He resides in Honolulu with his family and, during his free time, enjoys pursuing his passion for golf.
